How to fix a monotone voice
A monotone voice is not a boring person. It is a voice that stays on two or three notes when the sentence needs six. The fix is small and physical: decide which word matters, and let the pitch go up for it.

A monotone voice uses a narrow pitch range. It often comes with one fixed pace and one fixed level, because pitch, pace and level tend to flatten together when attention moves entirely to the words.
The answer is not constant melody. A useful voice stays near its natural centre, then moves enough to show the shape of the thought.
Three moves that widen it
- Pick the one word that carries the point and lift the pitch on that word.
- Let the pitch fall at a full stop so the sentence sounds complete.
- Exaggerate the movement in private, then bring it back to half.
Change the important word and say the line again. You will hear how pitch tells the listener what you mean before the sentence is finished.
Why it sounds fake at first
You hear your own voice through the body as well as through the air, so a small outside change can feel enormous inside. What feels theatrical may sound merely present to another person. Give the new movement time to become familiar before judging it.
Record one line and listen back, or let the drill compare the range with your usual warm-up. Keep the movement that sounds clear, not the movement that feels safest.
Why is my voice monotone?
Reading, nerves and habit can all flatten pitch. A voice that moves naturally in conversation may go flat the moment speaking starts to feel like a performance. Put attention back on the one word that matters.
How the drill trains it
Your warm-up sets your usual pitch range. The aim is a wider range from your own starting point, not somebody else's pattern. When a presentation line flattens, the teacher stops it and cues you to move the pitch.
Redo that line while its meaning is fresh. The Pitch variety goal is part of Presentation because a point needs shape as well as enough level to reach the room.
